"I paid for the deck stain report and at least from my view from Cincinnati your $9.97 was a bargain and saved me time and money. You did the research, work, time and effort. Thanks for the great info." - Jack Lucia

"Wow, definitely a difference. I've been using the biggest loser because of the brand name. Worth the money. Thanks!" - Heidi DiMatteo

Instant Read!

Sixteen different transparent and semi-transparent deck stains from nine different manufacturers were tested in real outdoor conditions for 11 months in New Hampshire by Tim Carter.
The deck sealers were applied to both cedar decking and traditional treated lumber.
The test started in May of 2012 and concluded on April 15, 2013. The results are still accurate because stain technology has not changed dramatically since the conclusion of the test.

Products submitted for testing were made by:

  • TWP
  • Armstrong's
  • Defy
  • Behr
  • Benjamin Moore
  • Wolman's
  • Sherwin Williams
  • Olympic
  • Thompson's
