Master Plumber Tim Carter will calculate the fixture units for each plumbing fixture and show each minimum pipe size for said fixtures.
If your building department is also requesting hydraulic calculations, they will be provided as well. Hydraulic calculations are required by some building departments to ensure you have enough water pressure.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If your job is in a major metropolitan area like LA, NYC, or Chicago, check with your local building department to see if you, as a homeowner, can submit the plan yourself. This will save you THOUSANDS of dollars.
The total flow rate adjusted for normal use is included. Many towns and cities are now requiring these calculations.
This product is ONLY for single-family (4 or less full bathrooms) with a kitchen sink, washing machine, a half bath, and an additional laundry sink. A normal 4-bedroom house might have between 25 and 35 total water fixture units.
Multi-family (4 units or LESS) residential projects will be priced depending on how many total water supply fixture units are involved in the project.
Larger homes or commercial projects will be bid once I see the plans.
My calculations are accepted by plan examiners in all 50 USA states.
These calculations and tables indicate to the building department that the drain and water pipes will not be undersized.
